Together Apart

Barlow Respiratory Hospital

  • Thank you to all who joined us on September 21, 2020 for Together Apart, our first-ever virtual fundraising event. With your support, we raised critical funds for the Campaign to ReBuild Barlow to construct our new hospital building.
  • As we all know, the world has changed. The ways we celebrate may change forever. Together Apart was one way in which we met a challenge to meet the changing needs of our time while remaining steadfast in our commitment to ReBuild Barlow.
  • Our Campaign to ReBuild Barlow builds upon our Barlow Respiratory Hospital legacy of specialized respiratory care, clinical excellence, innovation and dedication to service.

  • Our work continues despite current upheavals. Our exceptional health care team is here every day to serve our patients. Our historic 1927 hospital building has completed a major seismic retrofit and is approved for continued patient care until 2030. Construction has begun to ReBuild Barlow as a larger, more welcoming facility that will serve patients and families for generations to come.
  • Our major renovation continues as we move forward to Rebuild Barlow entirely within existing walls of a building adjacent to our historic hospital building on Stadium Way in Los Angeles. This will ReBuild Barlow as a new state-of-the-art hospital. This will move the project forward more quickly and at a much lower cost than could be achieved with a ground-up project.
  • Another thing that remains unchanged — our need to fundraise. Together Apart brought us closer to our goal of $4 million dollars to complete the first phase of this project.
  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we gathered online for Together Apart: A Virtual Evening to Support Barlow Respiratory Hospital. The event was livestreamed on Sept 21, 2020 and featured ABC7 News Health Reporter Denise Dador as Master of Ceremonies with Los Angeles Dodgers All-Stars & Legends Steve Garvey and Ron Cey, Businessman & Philanthropist Dennis Gilbert, World Champion of Magic Jason Latimer, award-winning broadcasters Christine Devine and Cari Champion, our honorable city councilmember, Gil Cedillo and our honorable California Assemblymember, Wendy Carrillo with legendary Larry King and Vin Scully … with our own Dr. David Nelson, Barlow Respiratory Hospital Medical Director and Amit Mohan, PhD, Barlow Respiratory Hospital CEO.

We appreciate the support of our celebrity friends and our many sponsors, donors and supporters. Together, we work to make a positive impact on the lives of critically ill patients served by Barlow Respiratory Hospital, their families, and our community for generations to come.

Thank you!
