    At Barlow Respiratory Hospital, physician is on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our multidisciplinary medical team is lead by our Medical Director, Dr. David Nelson, M.D., Board Certified Pulmonologist. Our interdisciplinary teams include certified Critical Care Registered Nurses with specialized knowledge of nursing care of acutely and critically ill patients and a team of licensed therapists.

  2. How are treatment plans developed?
    Find out how treatment plans are developed at any facility you are considering.
    At Barlow Respiratory Hospital, physicians and registered nurses work with respiratory, physical, occupational, speech/language therapists, and social workers to develop patient treatment and discharge plans.

  3. Is family participation encouraged?
    A partnership involving the patient, family and medical providers is essential to maximizing every opportunity for recovery, particularly when the patient is unable to communicate their wishes. Find out how family members are included.
    At Barlow Respiratory Hospital, we know that when a family member is ill, the entire family is impacted. Our teams work to include family members to share information on patient progress.

  4. Do patients have on-site access to other specialists?
    Find out if medical and surgical subspecialists, therapists and rehabilitation services are also available.
    At Barlow Respiratory Hospital, our expert interdisciplinary teams include board certified physicians, registered nurses and licensed respiratory and rehabilitation therapists. We include access to specialized affiliated physician and work together to provide each patient individualized goals of care and a treatment and discharge plan to achieve the most complete recovery possible.

  5. Do caregivers assist with discharge and insurance questions?
    You might ask if patients are assigned to someone who can help verify insurance benefits and answer questions.
    At Barlow Respiratory Hospital, we accept Medicare, Medi-Cal and private insurance. Our Admissions and Discharge Planning teams are available to answer your questions.
