Experience, Education and Licensure Required:
• One year of experience in a health care setting working with modified diets.
Skills and Abilities Required:
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Accuracy and thoroughness.
Performs basic nutritional screening and nutritional care to patients under the supervision of a Clinical Dietitian.
Obtains necessary information from the medical record to determine patient’s nutritional status and Co-ordinate with Clinical Dietitian on special diets as needed.
Distributes and assists patient to fill out menus as needed, collects and performs menu editing as directed by the Clinical Dietitian.
Daily print diet list by and make the necessary changes to prepare patient trays accurately.
Accurately transcribes diet changes into the cardex. Obtains patient likes and dislikes in a timely manner and treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. Assists in orienting and in servicing new employees to department
Prepares, delivers and sets up functions in a timely manner. Demonstrates the ability to cashier.
Inventory and place food and non food orders in a timely manner.
Assists with administrative aspects of Dietary Department as directed by the Food Service Manager, including overseeing the department in his/her absence.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
Observes infection control practices at all times.
