Position Title: Wound Care Specialist
Location: Barlow Main Campus, Los Angeles
Department: Barlow Main
Hours/Shifts: Part Time/Per Diem

Summary:

The Wound Care Specialist is responsible for developing, conducting and overseeing a system wide wound care program. Provides orientation and continuing education for nurses, students and other staff in a specified clinical area.  Develops wound care policies and procedures. Serves as a resource person to staff and management.  Participates in performance improvement activities and monitors staff competence; Serves on committees and performs special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience, Education and Licensure Required:

  • Current California licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Completion of Enterostomal Therapy or CWOCN Program.
  • Certification as CETN or CWOCN.
  • Three years nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting, with emphasis on wound management .
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of current nursing practices and JCAHO nursing standards for acute hospitals.
